Our latest issue of Australian Mountain Bike comes from the depths of an Australian winter. And for many of us that has us dreaming of escaping to somewhere else!

But even if you have it pretty good in our version of winter, the desire to escape the ordinary and ride new trails and explore places you haven't been before is part of the appeal of mountain biking. And that's what this issue is devoted to.

We've got stories from Sri Lanka, where our Editor Mike went to tackle to SriLankan Airlines Rumble in the Jungle.

We hear from the Gehrig Twins, who jumped out of the craziness of Manizales before the EWS round on Colombia,. to find out more about how the coffee we drink (and need!) gets to us in the first place.

Adam Macbeth took us along on the trail for an overnight trip with mates - one of the best kinds of escapes we can all do - packing a bag and riding into the bush for a night with good mates, and good food.

We also jumped across the ditch to experience what Haka Tours has to offer, with a week of sublime trails in the South Island of New Zealand.

But that's not it - we tested some rad bikes this issue including the all-new Canyon Lux, the Thok MIG-R eMTB, the game changing YT Capra 29 CF Pro Race, the Haibike SDURO Hardseven and the Bombtrack Beyond +2. From the bike park, to the race track, to well beyond the imminent horizon - this mix of bikes really offer something for any kind of escape.

There is heaps more in the issue - so pick up a copy to get the whole story.
