It’s your first time on a pro team, how are you enjoying it so far?

I’m loving it! It’s like a dream come true to just travel around racing my bike with a good crew.

This is not your first downhill bike, how does the Bergamont Straitline compare to those you’ve had before?

The Straitline is pretty stable and planted compared to other bikes I’ve had in the past.

How would you describe your riding style?

I guess I just try to ride smooth and stay loose.

Is this a complete, anyone can get or a custom build?

The bike is a pretty custom build, similar to the Straitline Team build with upgraded components.

Do you change parts or setup from race to race?

Yeah sometimes, it all depends on how the bike is feeling and what other people are doing.

Have you ridden an inverted fork before? What do you think of the Manitou Dorados?

I haven’t ridden once since I was about 10 when I had a big old set of Foes forks. The Dorados are awesome, they flex a fair bit compared to other forks but you get used to it pretty quickly.

How do you set up your Dorados?

Pretty stiff, and so they ramp up through the travel.

Are there any special modifications that we may not have noticed?

There are some funky bits in the forks to help them ramp up more, and 1 degree headset cups to slacken it out a bit. It’s also got a bigger swing arm to fit a 27.5” rear wheel.

As a racer how important is weight in a build?

I think it’s pretty important, but I’d rather cart around an extra kilo or two and ride something reliable rather than something crazy light.

What do you like most about the Straitline?

It charges on the burlier World Cup tracks!
