Today, RockShox have dropped their biggest release of the year – the launch of the completely overhauled Zeb and Lyrik forks, as well as updated Vivid and Super Deluxe shocks.
With the recent release of the BoXXer fork highlighting new tech such as ButterWagon Tech, Linear XL Airspring and the AirAnnexe – as well as a host of other more subtle features to increase performance on the trail.
Fork Talk – New Zeb and Lyrik
The two forks launched today, Zeb and Lyrik, cover the whole space of trail bike to enduro rig territory, with the Zeb offered in 150–180mm and the Lyrick in 140–170mm travel and both 27.5” and 29” options. We will see 3 finishes available in each fork aftermarket – Ultimate Flight Attendant, Ultimate and Select, with two other variants – the Base and Select+, added to the range as an OEM-only product.

Both the Lyrik and Zeb forks from Select above have been completely overhauled, with a chassis redesign to facilitate greater air volume, stiffer machined crown, increased lower arch stiffness, the new AirAnnexe and the Charger 3.2 damper.

Both the Lyrik and the Zeb’s updates feature a completely new chassis that’s incompatible with prior models – from Select variants onwards. The Base models of these forks maintain the former chassis and are not compatible with the new internals.
The updated chassis features a wider crown with updated finish that looks the goods, and promises increased torsional stiffness. The lower arch features capacity for housing an integrated fender mount, which integrates seamlessly with the lower arch. RockShox claim the TorqueCap dropouts on the Lyrik result in downhill-level stiffness, despite using standard 15mm Maxle.

Another obvious difference is the AirAnnexe on the lower leg, which we saw launched with the recent BoXXer release. Ultimately, RockShox states the AirAnnexe results in a more predictable, linear feel as it increases the lower leg air volume, which reduces the air-spring progressivity and speed-sensitivity inherent to traditional lower leg designs.
More subtle changes include the ABO or Adjustable Bottom Out feature, located under the air annexe on the base of the fork, this acts like a bit of insurance in the last 20% of travel and will likely be a feature you don’t even feel – but let you ride out something spicy that in another scenario would see you A-grade scorpion.

Moving away from the updated chassis and inside the new Zeb and Lyrik, both models feature the new Charger 3.2 damper (models Select+ and above) which features independent High and Low Speed Compression tuning, so you can find your desired ‘window of happiness’ while reducing cross-talk or interference between the two. As a bonus, RockShox states the new Charger 3.2 is silent, a win for those disliking that squish sound that defines many modern forks.

ButterWagonTech is another feature initially launched with the new BoXXer that we are now seeing on the trail range – the dimpled surface of the stanchion within the fork allows for ongoing lubrication of the bushings and seals with Maxima oil, and ensures better quality performance for longer. We could see increased duration of recommended service intervals with the new ranges, but at the very least expect that the new forks would maintain a high level of performance for longer. Ultimate and Flight Attendant variants of the Lyrik and Zeb forks also feature vibration-reducing ButterCups.

New Super Deluxe and Vivid
RockShox have also announced the release of updated SuperDeluxe and Vivid shocks, after the launch of the new Vivid DH in February, with a focus on usability, broader compatibility and simplified tuning.

The headline change arrives on the new Super Deluxe, which introduces a redesigned air-can system that removes the need for traditional Bottomless Tokens. Instead, RockShox employs a position-sensitive internal O-ring arrangement – allowing riders to adjust air volume by repositioning the seal within the air can itself. The system delivers the same progression tuning benefits as volume spacers, but without the need to open the shock, making setup faster and more accessible. Furthermore, for riders wishing to fine tune spring curves even further, traditional volume spacers can also be used.

Another significant update to the Super Deluxe is an increase in maximum allowable pressure to 400psi, a move that reflects the realities of modern mountain bikes. With heavier e-MTBs, longer travel platforms and a wider range of rider weights now common, the higher pressure ceiling broadens compatibility and expands tuning range.
Both the Super Deluxe and Vivid shocks also receive RockShox’s new Control Bezel adjusters, first seen on the latest Lyrik and Zeb forks. The redesigned dials offer improved ergonomics and clearer adjustment feedback while bringing visual consistency across the brand’s suspension range.
Updates to the Vivid air shock are more evolutionary than revolutionary. Internally the shock remains largely unchanged, retaining the performance characteristics that have made it a popular gravity option. The primary revision comes via a new reservoir design shared with the Super Deluxe, giving the Vivid a refreshed aesthetic alongside the updated adjustment hardware.
Meanwhile, the Vivid DH continues unchanged following its recent overhaul, remaining RockShox’s dedicated downhill race shock.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, RockShox’s latest shock updates focus on refinement – simplifying setup, improving usability and ensuring its rear shocks keep pace with the demands of modern trail, enduro and gravity bikes.
