PNW Components is a mountain bike brand born in the rugged terrain of the Pacific Northwest, USA – a region known for its steep trails, wet weather, and no-nonsense riding culture. Built by riders, for riders, PNW has carved out a reputation for designing reliable, affordable, and thoughtfully engineered components that focus on real-world performance, no matter the conditions.

From dropper posts and handlebars to grips and pedals, PNW’s products are built to withstand harsh conditions while delivering a reliable ride, no matter the trail. The brand champions durability, serviceability, and value over lightweight marginal gains, making it a top choice for everyday trail riders, enduro enthusiasts, and weekend warriors who want solid gear without the boutique price tag.
As PNW lands on Australian shores, they announce the launch of the second generation Loam Dropper, offering performance and reliability at a price that won’t break the bank. We take a closer look below.
The Loam Dropper Gen 2
The Loam Dropper is PNW’s premium dropper, offering a wide range of options and compatibility to customise your ride. Available in internally routed options only, the dropper is available in 30.9mm, 31.6mm and 34.9mm diameters, in lengths from 125–225mm in 25mm increments.
A nice feature is the tool-less 25mm travel adjust, meaning riders can size-down their travel if desired by 25mm – a great option for someone who may swap out parts across bikes and can facilitate a 175mm on one bike and a 200mm dropper on another.

PNW use a sealed, dual-chamber cartridge in the internals, and have slimmed down the saddle clamp and midcap area for a lower stack height, a change the brand says results in around 2cm more usable post. The Loam Gen 2 is available in black and shiny silver alloy colours, with fun customisation offered by the silicone midcap band in black, orange, grey, purple, teal, red, brown and green.
We are pumped to be putting a range of PNW Components through the ringer on test, keep an eye out for our review. The Loam Gen 2 dropper will be available in Australia from July.
