This casual clothing brand is the work of three Tassie riders, Chris Hardinge, Matt Osborne and Mitch Osborne who want to make high quality t-shirts that represent us as mountain bikers without looking like an advert for a bike company.  Aficionadi continue to take a different approach to the mountain biking lifestyle, choosing to focus the range on a riders habits off the bike in their own unique style. The word aficionadi is plural for the Spanish ‘aficionado’ and means ‘A group of people who like, know about, and appreciate a particular interest or activity’. In this case it’s the passion to ride bikes and create t-shirts!

Tell us a little about the inspiration behind your designs?

We have always been a big fan of street wear and bold graphics with a bit of attitude and thought we’d bring it to the world of mountain biking. With a background of working for major sportswear labels, the influence was always going to rub off. The new Spring-Summer range pays homage to the spirit of adventure with your mates. It’s about not being content with riding the same trails every weekend, instead searching for new lines, locations and even building trails with your crew.

What’s your favourite design?

Without doubt ‘Brothers in Dust’ is a design that a lot riders can relate to. We don’t exactly know who the mystery man is, but we do know he’s one eyed about riding bikes.

Favourite rider to watch at the moment?

It’s hard the go past Rat Boy at the moment. He’s a cult hero.
