Avinox Releases 2025 Firmware Updates
Can the industry leader set an even higher benchmark?
The launch of the Avinox M1 unit was nothing short of earth shattering. The brand exploded onto the mountain biking scene with obvious intent not to merely match others’ performance, but to completely reshape the eMTB industry. With a major firmware rollout for 2025, the brand behind one of the most refined drive systems in the eMTB world is giving riders more power, more control, and a deeper level of personalisation.

This latest update (available now via firmware version V00.11.03.04) and the new Avinox Ride App v1.3.3 unlock a host of upgrades designed to transform the ride experience. Think increased wattage, smarter assist behaviour, and more tools to tune every ride to the terrain, trail, or mood. Check out some key details on the update below.
Power When It Matters Most
Peak power output has been bumped up to a muscular 1,000 watts in Auto, Trail, and Turbo modes, a claimed 17% increase over previous levels. Riders now have more room to fine-tune their assistance levels without changing pre-set modes, offering a more adaptable setup whether you’re cruising flowy singletrack or grinding steep alpine switchbacks.
Quick Starts and Smarter Sprints
Boost mode can now be adjusted all the way from 10 to 60 seconds, making short punchy climbs or quick bursts of speed feel more natural. A new Quick Start feature sharpens the motor’s engagement when pedalling begins – perfect for navigating tricky uphill starts or tight technical climbs. We think this feature will be welcomed for anyone who loves to ride (and sometimes fail) up steep, technical climbs.

Real-Time Control, Tailored to You
One of the standout features is Real-Time Tune. Riders can now adjust assist levels on the fly using their handlebar remote, without needing to switch modes. Mode names can also be customised, reordered, or hidden altogether. Even the cockpit gets smarter, with support for up to eight data fields on the display, including visualised metrics like bar and line charts, stopwatch functions, and more.
More Integration and Compatibility
Avinox’s new update also embraces drivetrain integration with SmoothShift, a feature that enables coasting gear changes (with SRAM X0 Eagle Transmission and AXS). When a shift is detected, motor torque is intelligently reduced to protect the drivetrain and extend chain life.
Other improvements include Control Centre updates, giving you live system diagnostics and accessory control directly from the display, custom charging limits (choose between 70%, 80%, 95%, or 100% to preserve long-term battery health); and Bluetooth and app upgrades: Improved stability, faster sync between app and bike, better Strava integration, and optional six-digit security with auto-lock for peace of mind.
Update & Ride
To access the new features, riders will need to update both the drive unit firmware and the Avinox Ride App (v1.3.3), available for iOS and Android. Avinox recommends syncing both at the same time for best results.
