Press Release: Stages Cycling & Today’s Plan Announce Technology Partnership to Shape the Future of Cycling Training

Leading power meter manufacturer, Stages Cycling, has established a technology partnership with Today’s Plan an emerging web-based training & analytics company. The partnership will see the creation of a Stages Cycling training and data analysis platform. This new online system allows Stages Cycling to create specific training programs, tailor data analysis and leverage educational content from Stages’ specialists.

“Our goal is to make it even easier for every Stages Cycling customer to train with power data and to analyze this data to help them improve. By doing so, we’re helping our customers get the maximum benefit from their Stages product” says Doug Crawford, VP of Stages Cycling “We have a lot of in-house expertise on how best to train with power and we’re very excited by the opportunity to partner with Today’s Plan to bring those new concepts to life”.

Software development is already under way with the initial beta version of the site expected to go live in early August 2016. The two companies have been working closely to conceptualize and design the initial foundation for the platform, as well as define a longer-term development roadmap.

“Today’s Plan is thrilled to be working collaboratively with Stages Cycling on this project” says Ben Bowley, CEO of Today Plan. “I have spent most of my working career in consumer electronics companies including 14 years at Apple, so I understand the ‘ease of use’ expectations that consumers have and know that the integration between hardware and software is the key to that. Since we began talking to Stages two years ago, it was clear that we had many shared goals, including modernizing cycling training by making it simple for customers to undertake structured training which capitalized on increasingly popular sensor technology, particularly power meters.”
