Nicol is one of the earliest mountain bikers in northern California. He founded Ibis Cycles in his garage in 1981, and the company is now one of the world’s leading mountain bike manufacturers. Ibis Bicycles produces the popular Mojo mountain bike frame, among other models and distributes to 33 countries.

Nicol said he is excited to be visiting Mt Buller, with the opportunity to test out one of the many world class trails come Tuesday.

“My last visit to Australia was just before I founded Ibis, that trip was back in 1980. It’s been way too long since I’ve returned,” he said.

Mt Buller’s mountain bike offering just keeps on getting better, with over 120km of quality XC trails (including the new Australian Alpine Epic), four DH tracks, a flow down trail, modular pump track and two skills parks. Stonefly is a popular ‘must-see’ ride when visiting Mt Buller Mt Stirling for the avid rider. This purpose-built, mind-blowing singletrack is a 10km loop starting and finishing at Howqua Gap. It comprises of a tough but rewarding 6km climb up Mt Stirling, followed by a 4km thrill-seeking descent.
