Pivot Cycles have introduced the new Shuttle with an updated superlight and ultra-capable full carbon frame. There are two new spec models with a new lower price option. Pivot say the updates make the Pivot the most advanced eMTB they have ever developed! So what's new?

Wheels go up a size

The wheel size has moved to 29", although the frame and fork can still be run with Plus sized wheels and tyres. There's no real argument that a 29" wheel does roll over terrain a whole lot better - and Pivot have embraced that. You could even run the bike as a 29" up front and 27.5 out the back if you like.

More travel - up front

The DW-link 140mm out the back remains the same, but the front end moves to a Fox 36 with 160mm of travel. The fork offset is dialled back to 44mm to keep the handling where it needs to be with a slacker head angle and larger wheel size. The head angle is a very trail friendyl 65.2 degrees, and the seat angle sits at 74 degrees, which is fairly conservative by modern standards.

Updated spec and performance

The Team build comes in at just 20.29kg and the Race level is only 680g heavier. Both models arebuilt with the exact same full carbon Shuttle frame. The Race XT level Shuttle features Shimano’s STEPS E7000 drive unit, an XT drivetrain and Performance level Fox suspension. For those who only want the best, the Shuttle Team XTR version has Shimano’s STEPS E-8000 drive unit, the new 12-speed XTR drivetrain and Factory level Fox suspension with Kashima coatings. “Since day one, riders have been loving the Shuttle but asking for a more affordable version,” says Pivot Cycles President and CEO, Chris Cocalis. “I am pleased that this day is finally here,and we did it while significantly improving the bike at the same time.


And the Team model takes that performance up yet another notch ”The same fork specs that make our endurorace models shred so hard gives the Shuttle next level feel and capability on the trail. This 44mm offset, 160mm travel Fox 36 fork adds high-speed stability, cornering ability, and overall performance on the most technical terrain. Experience nothing but fade-free performance and control on the longest, roughest descents thanks to the custom tuned Fox Float DPX2 shock’s added oil capacity and twin tube internal architecture. Add in the characteristics of Dave Weagle’s dw-link suspension, and you get best in class pedaling performance and traction –important traits when boosting up technical trail features."

Frame updates

The swingarm has an integrated magnet sensor, for a magnet mounted onto the rotor. It's really neat and a great step for cleaning up the lines of an eMTB.
