New Burpengary Trails Open for SEQ Riders
Could this be a new hotspot for SEQ mountain biking?
Burpengary has some fresh new mountain bike trails, with City of Moreton Bay officially opening a 3km trail network packed with features built to boost skills and keep riders stoked. The project, a $700,000 investment, sits within the council’s Outdoor Recreation Plan and gives locals another quality spot to ride close to home.
Set just off Lagoon Road near Grogan Road Park, the new network delivers three trail options, each built by specialist trail builders and suited to beginners through to confident riders. You can expect wooden berms, boardwalks, rollers, dirt jumps, tabletops, plus a rock garden, timber kicker ramp, and snake ladder, giving riders plenty to session, progress on, or have a laugh with your mates.

City of Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery says outdoor recreation demand is booming as the region expands, and these new trails are a direct response to what riders have been asking for. Councillor Mark Booth added that the hype has been building for weeks, and now that the tape’s been cut, the network is expected to quickly become a go-to spot for MTBers across SEQ.
The opening adds to a growing lineup of new riding facilities in the region, including the recently finished Deception Bay pump track and upgrades to skate parks across Moreton Bay.
And yes, we’re just as keen as everyone else to get out there and turn some laps, so expect more from us soon!
