Blue Dirt Mountain Biking have just announced Bike Warrior, a multi-day enduro race that will be running in Victoria from 20-28 February. While they plan to have timed stages at all the epic riding locations, the event will also be loaded with a tonne of social elements

Bike Warrior competitors will ride seven days across Victoria’s best trails in the revered High Country. “Descents are timed, nothing else matters” says Aaron from Blue Dirt. And he is quick to point out “the event will be delivered in typical Blue Dirt style with a focus on quality and above all fun, both on and off the bike.“ Riding will take in a mix of trails from out there raw backcountry to bike park flow. You'll still need to pedal, but uplift shuttles are also included at most locations.

Every day finishes with a social gathering around food and the odd hops flavoured sports drink or two. The Blue Dirt Crew are providing a COVID Guarantee. If the event cannot be held due to Government COVID restrictions all participants receive a full refund. “We also feel the ‘Blind Event’ format is important to the vibe of Bike Warrior. All trails and maps will be released a few days prior to the event helping ensure that it’s not all about the racing, cutting practice laps, and trying to shave a second or two off you time. We want it to feel like a rolling bike party with amazing riding that tests even the best riders along the way” says Aaron.

Event entry is pretty much inclusive, and will include everything from meals, accommodation, shuttles, transfer, snacks and the sneaky cold ones at the end of the day. If you prefer to look after yourself, there is a DIY entry option.

The locations on the Bike Warrior route are a bucket list of mountain bike trails and elevation in Victoria. Falls Creek, Mt Beauty, Dinner Plain, Bright & Mt Buller. There’s a backcountry trail or two that literally send you off the map and into places with no known postcode.

To get the most out of the week of shred, a certain amount of fitness is required as you'll be riding for 3-6 hours a day. As it’s only descents that are timed the other riding will be fun, relaxed and done at a pace to suit. Entries are capped at 100 riders for 2021 to ensure a high quality experience and COVID safe environment.

With a $1995 total cost covering the week of riding and racing, accommodation, transfers and meals, Bike Warrior is hitting the trail with a top-value offering that should be a blast as well!
