FOX Expands Transfer Neo Wireless Dropper Range

Including a 225mm Option

FOX has expanded its Transfer Neo wireless dropper post lineup with the addition of a 225mm travel option, aimed at taller riders and those chasing maximum drop for steep terrain. The new length is available across the existing 30.9mm, 31.6mm and 34.9mm diameters, further rounding out what is now one of the most comprehensive wireless dropper ranges on the market.

The Transfer Neo was FOX’s first move into wireless seatpost actuation, and rather than adopting an existing wireless standard, the brand developed its own communication protocol, known simply as Neo.

The goal of the Neo was delivering speed and consistency in a wireless post package. According to FOX, Neo operates at roughly 26 milliseconds from lever press to post movement – significantly faster than Bluetooth-based systems. On the trail, this translates to near-instant engagement, particularly noticeable when making small height adjustments through technical terrain.

A key design focus has been reducing overall stack height. From the bottom of the saddle clamp to the centre of the rails, the Transfer Neo measures 47mm, which FOX says is around 18mm shorter than comparable wireless droppers. Combined with the new 225mm travel option, this allows riders to run more drop without exceeding their frame’s insertion limits – an increasingly important consideration as modern bikes continue to push longer travel droppers and riders demand more of their bikes in steep and demanding conditions.

Battery placement has also been carefully considered. Rather than hanging low beneath the post, the Transfer Neo’s battery and motor are positioned to maximise rear tyre clearance, avoiding contact at full suspension compression. The main battery offers a claimed 30–40 hours of ride time depending on usage and charges in around 90 minutes via the supplied dock.

The Transfer Neo features a Schrader valve at the top of the post, allowing riders to fine-tune air pressure for return speed and feel, or compensate for gradual pressure loss over time. The head design mirrors FOX’s latest cable-actuated Transfer, using a two-bolt clamp with infinite angle adjustment and a low-profile layout.

The 34.9mm version is a dedicated design rather than an upsized shell around a smaller post. Both the upper and lower tubes are optimised for the larger diameter, reducing friction and weight compared to posts that simply adapt a 31.6mm upper.

Control is handled via a compact wireless lever powered by a CR2032 coin cell, claimed to last for around 12 months of regular use. Replacement is tool-free, and the lever ships with standard 22.2mm mount, with MatchMaker and I-Spec EV mounting options also available.

Transfer Neo integrates with the FOX Bike App, which provides firmware updates, mode selection (including Bike Park and Transport modes), and service tracking. Rather than relying on ride hours, the app monitors actual post activations, with servicing recommended at 8000 cycles. Riders can also perform basic maintenance between services by removing the dust wiper for re-greasing.

With drop options now spanning 100mm to 225mm depending on diameter, the Transfer Neo range is clearly aimed at modern trail, enduro and gravity riders who want maximum clearance, minimal lag and reduced cockpit clutter. The addition of the 225mm option doesn’t reinvent the system, but it does make it more relevant to the way contemporary mountain bikers ride.
