Giant launch the new Reign Advanced E+

All new motor, less weight and thoughtful features for the E-Enduro rider

AMB Editorial Team 08.10.2025

Today Giant launched their newest e-bike, the brawling Reign Advanced E+. Featuring 170mm/160mm travel with Maestro suspension, a new Syncdrive 3 Pro motor with 800W peak power, integrated frame and motor protection and a high-performance carbon frame, the new Reign Advanced + certainly delivers a bike that – on paper – can pull its weight in the increasingly busy e-bike market.

This new 29” carbon fibre, light 22.7kg e-enduro brawler is available in sizes S, M, L, XL, with most models available now – and the top model hitting shores in mid-November.

Syncdrive 3 Pro

The new Syncdrive 3 Pro motor has increased from a 36V to a 48V system. What does this mean? While it delivers more support – up to 800W peak power, it does so while reducing heat and motor stress making for a more efficient unit and holding that 800W peak power for longer.

Using Giant’s Ride Control app, you can head into launch control, allowing torque adjustment at your fingertips.

The new Syncdrive 3 Pro system uses a total of 6 sensors in order to generate smooth and natural-feeling power – something that many systems are seeking with their newly released e-bike motors.

Energypak 560 + Range Extender

With the recent release of some seriously huge battery packs, most riders can forget about range anxiety. The Giant Reign Advanced+ features a 560Wh battery that claims to have a 2hr charge time for 80% capacity – that’s fast. If 560Wh isn’t enough for your all day epic, Giant have also released the  EnergyPak Plus 280Wh range extender for a massive 840Wh of ride juice.

This comes with the top model in Australia – the Giant Reign Advanced E+ 0, but for the other models it’s an added extra Giant will be selling separately. The EnergyPak Plus 280Wh retails at $1,099.99 and the mounting kit is $249.99 – ouch!

While 560Wh is not industry leading – after all Bosch have the Powertube 750 and 800 and Avinox have an 800Wh battery, together with the range extender the Reign Advanced E+ should be up to whatever long adventure you want to throw at it.

Ride Control Go Lux

Another feature of the new Giant Reign Advanced E+ is the Ride Control Go Lux screen. Integrated into the top tube, the 2.4” displays key features and pushes audio cues.

Reign Advanced E+ Frame and Geometry

Giant’s Maestro suspension has been around for Aeons, and with the Reign Advanced E+, you get more customisation with flip chips located on the upper rocker arm offering low, medium and high settings. Flipping the chip to high steepens up the geometry to from 63.1 to 63.5 and 63.9 degrees – across all sizes. .

Giant have been reading the memos about geometry, and the adjustability doesn’t stop there, as flip chips in the head tube allow for reach customisation of 10mm length – from neutral 0 to +/-5mm. Now that’s a bit different, and a great option for riders who want a mild deviation in reach from the sizes on the box. For a medium bike in the medium setting, the 460mm reach can be adjusted to 455mm or 465mm, making the Reign Advanced + able to be configured in a total of nine possible geometry settings.

Speaking of, on paper with those numbers it’s clear that the Reign Advanced E+ is built to descend, it’s slack seat tube and long wheelbase confirm it’s ready for business, while the reasonably steep 77.5 degree seat tube (medium setting) mean that it’s likely a bike that feels pretty good on endless climbing liaison stages.

And the rest

While we have discussed a whole raft of features for Giant’s latest release, it doesn’t stop there. A new 3-button Ride Control Ergo 4 remote controls power at your bars, and can be swapped either side. Aegis Tyre checkers are fitted, for pressure management on the go, and there are a whole range of other handy e-bike features such as an e-lock system and ‘find my’ tracking system.

Our impressions

We are impressed by Giant’s new release, the frame looks tidy, its endlessly adjustable geometry looks super capable and the updated motor will be exciting to put through its paces. It certainly looks like a well-priced carbon e-bike for the big hitters, though the added extra EnergyPak Plus 280Wh is pretty eyewateringly expensive. While the new Syncdrive 3 Pro motor features some huge updates, it certainly doesn’t compare in terms of raw output to the Avinox M1…but really what does right now?

Overall, Giant have delivered a bike that features well-tested suspension technology, upgraded motor and batteries, and added all the modern features that riders want. We can’t wait to see how it performs on the trail!
