Smith’s Forefront 2 MIPS trail helmet is all about premium protection, ventilation, and comfort with signature Smith style built in. With its full-coverage design, Koroyd zones, and MIPS protection, it’s built to take hard knocks while keeping things breathable and light.

The design language is instantly recognisable, Koroyd’s honeycomb green structure is visible through the venting, which makes it stand out from more generic-looking lids. You either love it or don’t, but the functionality is there. The Koroyd material compresses on impact while also improving airflow through the helmet, working with the AirEvac system to keep your head cool even on slow climbs or hot days.

It’s not the lightest lid out there, but the added coverage and trail-ready protection are worth it. Fit is dialled via the VaporFit adjustment system, and the Forefront 2 pairs especially well with Smith’s own eyewear and goggles. Goggle storage on climbs is also solid, with a three-position visor that easily lifts out of the way. There’s a camera/light mount included as well.

Trail riders looking for a stylish, well-ventilated, and extra-protective helmet will get along well with the Forefront 2, especially if you like the look and value integration with eyewear or action cams.
