Check out the latest Australian Mountain Bike Magazine #210 out on shelves now!

On a personal note, as the editor, getting #210 out has been momentous, and hopefully you will enjoy a bit of escapism as much as I do right now, as my own time on the bike is limited and precious.

In this edition, we encourage you to grab a coffee and put your feet up as you enjoy the immersive experience of the 2024 AMB Photography Awards.

This year’s entries were astounding, and featured some new faces as well as those previously featured in previous photography awards.

It would be remiss of me not to mention the 2024 AMB Photographer of the Year and stalwart of the Victorian mountain biking scene, Matt Rousu. Matt really put his heart and soul into his entries and it showed, you can read all about it and see his winning portfolio in his Photographer of the Year feature.

We journey across to China where Martin Bissig and Tom Öhler ride the Great Wall of China, enjoy trails built based on watching hours of Whistler bike park YouTube, and have fun with some urban jibs. The story is weird and incredible (I mean this in the best way), and Bissig’s imagery is spellbounding.

We then head up to the Sunshine Coast to escape the cold southern winter at the Quad Crown Sunny 80, a three-day stage race weekender with a variety of some of the coast’s best trails.

We also feature a really important article unpacking insurance options for cyclists. Insurance is one of those things that can be overlooked as another expense, but when you partake in an inherently ‘risky’ hobby (even if you ride within your means!) it’s something that’s definitely recommended. Margot Meade walks you through the different options available.

Finally, we test a huge range of hot new bikes including the Specialized Stumpjumper 15, GasGas MXC5 and the Trek Top Fuel. We get dirty on drop-bars with the new Campagnolo Ekar GT drivetrain, and put SRAM’s Eagle Powertrain to the test, plus a whole range of other product reviews.

Of course, we have our regular columnists who bring you the most up-to-date news on fitness and nutrition, and even how to improve your skills on the bike.

So what are you waiting for? Grab that coffee, put those feet up and dig in! You can pick up issue #210 here.
