Pivot Trailcat SL & LT Bring Balanced Geometry and Tuned Suspension
Pivot Cycles introduces the Trailcat SL and LT
Pivot Cycles has introduced the all-new Trailcat SL and Trailcat LT, two trail bikes designed to cover a broad spectrum of riding styles. With refined dw-link suspension, updated geometry, and a focus on efficiency and control, the Trailcat lineup aims to cater to riders looking for a capable, do-it-all trail bike.
Pivot Trailcat SL
The Trailcat SL is positioned as a lightweight, efficient trail bike with 120mm of dw-link rear suspension and a 140mm Fox 34 fork. Pivot describes it as an option for riders who enjoy a balance between climbing efficiency and confident descending, making it a choice for those who split their time between longer trail rides and technical riding.

Features:
- 120mm dw-link suspension
- 140mm Fox 34 fork
- Modern geometry designed for a stable yet responsive ride
Pivot Trailcat LT: A More Aggressive Approach
The Trailcat LT builds on the same platform but increases rear travel to 135mm, paired with a 150mm Fox 36 fork. Pivot suggests that this version is intended for riders who prioritise control on rough terrain while maintaining the ability to climb efficiently. The bike’s longer travel and slacker angles indicate a focus on technical trail riding, particularly for riders tackling steeper, more unpredictable terrain.

Features:
- 135mm of rear travel
- 150mm Fox 36 fork
- Slack, aggressive geometry designed to handle steeper trails

Pivot’s Director of Engineering, Kevin Tisue, emphasizes the versatility of both models.
“With the Trailcat SL and LT, we set out to create trail bikes that balance efficiency with capability. Whether you prefer covering long distances or tackling technical trails, there’s a Trailcat that fits the ride.”

Final Thoughts
The Trailcat SL and LT appear to fill a gap in Pivot’s lineup for riders who want a capable trail bike without moving into enduro territory. With adjustable travel and a choice between two setups, the Trailcat range will appeal to those riders looking for a do-it-all full suspension bike. We’ll be looking forward to seeing how it performs on the trails in Australia.
