Shimano Video Competition winner is drawn!

After a couple of months of receiving a variety of entries, there could only be one winner in the Shimano Video Competition.

When we started talking about putting a competition together with Shimano, it was based around the experience of riding, and spending time with other mountain bikers. It took a lot of discussion, coming up with ideas, scrapping them and starting all over again. But in time, we developed the concept of My MTB Life. We wanted riders to create a video, to show us their passion for mountain biking, and what it meant to them. From there it was a bit of a blank canvas, but the winner would be greatly rewarded for their originality, and their video production.

Shimano put up their new XT Di2 group set, plus PRO finishing parts, a flight to Italy, and a week of accommodation in Finale Ligure, for the final round of the Enduro World Series. Trek Australia put up a Remedy frame and Bontrager wheels and tyres, and Fox are providing a Factory 36 fork and new dropper post.

After three rounds and a final, the video from James Klousia turned out to be the most popular, so James will be joining current Australian Gravity Enduro champ Chris Panozzo at the final round of the EWS in Italy, where they'll team up to shoot a video as well.

We gave James a call, he was at work and politely went to another room so he could yell and scream for a bit. Eventually, he regained his composure.

"A massive thanks to AMB, Shimano, Trek, Fox and Bontrager for running the biggest and best competition I’ve ever seen! This really is the opportunity of a lifetime and I’m stoked to have won it. Thanks so much to all the people who watched and shared my video. I received lots of messages from people asking about Tassie’s trails – I’m looking forward to seeing some of you out there!"

So in case you needed any proof – people really do win these awesome prizes you see. We'll have a story from the trip to Finale Ligure in an issue later this year – and stay tuned for their video too.

Thanks for the immense support from Shimano Australia, Trek Australia and Fox Australia for getting the prize together. And a huge thank you to every one who took the time to get out and ride, shoot some videos and edit them to show us your mountain bike life! You can always watch all the entries on our Vimeo page.
