Ward wins the Port to Port Sundown Shoot Out
The Sundown Shoot Out is an institution for Port to Port, based right out of the beer garden at Lovedale Brewery at Crowne Plaza.
Both Port to Port and Cape to Cape have a great mid-race event – the Sundown Shoot Out. The top 20 riders and top 5 women, plus some invited riders, are set out for a ahort time trial on the evening of stage 2.
While at Cape to Cape the racing takes place in The Pines, here at Port to Port the course runs around, over and throuh parts of the golf course at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.
Tristan Ward took it on the line, as Em Viotto narrowly edged out Kathryn McInerney and held onto her pink jersey.
